Our Unique Approach
We call our approach “Design Practice”
It allows the challenge and the solution to co-evolve
Imagine a Progression
Select a path forward based on known constraints and available options. There is no “right” answer; we don’t even know the question.
Make it Tangible
…as soon as possible. We create a prototype, a proof of concept, or a way to move along the progression, often before understanding the challenges.
Practice its Function
Humans achieve things that appear impossible by simply practicing. We practice the progression relentlessly, like an extreme athlete or a medical doctor.
Observe and Re-imagine
We analyze the data and formulate theories based on empirical observations.
Into the White Space
We are the pioneers of a new Engineering Method called Design Practice, much like its predecessor, the M.I.T. developed Design Thinking, this new methodology provides us a strategic path to work out difficult design problems by using modern capabilities. In an age where speed, information, and complexity must be managed like never before, we are leading the way in design and build challenges.
Design Practice is not a rigid series progression like the traditional Engineering Method. Instead, it allows for testing and iteration at any point of a project’s maturity. Unlike the Scientific Method, Design Practice does not require that you complete a test and then analyze the outcome. It only requires that the practitioner find a progression, or path, that can be practiced. In this way, it is more like a Medical Practice that Physicians use to treat patients or how an extreme athlete learns a new element.
At any point in the development, if the progression does not yield preferable patterns, an increase in understanding, or further defining principals, the progression can be abandoned. However, if the Progression fails to achieve the desired solution but does uncover patterns, principals, or deepens the practitioner’s understanding then the progression should undergo an iteration and be practiced again.
